GUIDE TO SUCCESSFUL STREAMING

Q: I click on the link to listen live, but nothing happens. Why?
A: Most likely, your browser is blocking pop-ups.

Q: Great. What do I do about it?
A: Since most browsers still can't tell the difference between a pop-up advertisement and a JavaScript pop-up you actually want to open, you'll need to futz with your settings a bit. If you're using Microsoft Internet Explorer for Windows XP, it's as simple as opening the "Tools" menu and picking the appropriate option. If you're using a pop-up blocker such as the Google toolbar or another web browser, consult that program's help menu. Many programs give you the option to allow pop-ups only from specific sites; if this is the case, enter www.streamaudio.com as the site you'd like to allow.

Q: Pop-ups aren't a problem. But the stream is buffering excessively, and sometimes drops out altogether. What's the deal with that?
A: If you're using dial-up, then the problem is probably that you don't have the bandwidth necessary to stream audio very well. Get with this century. If you are on a high-speed connection like cable or DSL and you're still having this problem, make sure nothing else is hogging your bandwidth such as another heavy download. If you still get too much buffering, let us know at promotions@fnxradio.com.

Q: Why am I prompted to install something when I click to listen?
A: If it's your first time attempting to access the FNX stream, there's a small application you'll need to install for it to work. This isn't spyware or anything that will negatively alter the performance of your machine. It simply allows us to pump high-octane alternative rock straight to you, free of charge.

Q: I can't seem to listen on my Linux machine. Or my Unix box, for the matter.
A: We don't currently support those operating systems, but we're all terribly impressed by how l33t you are. Our stream works on all Windows platforms from 95 up, as well as Macintosh OS9 and above.

Q: I've tried all of this stuff, and it still doesn't work. Now what?
A: You have failed at the Internet. Sorry. Actually, you can find more detailed technical support at http://www.chaincast.com/support_faq_answers.html. Or you could try emailing help@chaincast.com. They handle our streaming software and in most respects are much smarter than us. We party harder, though.
