The one and only name behind the best burger in town is R.F. O'Sullivan's in Somerville, not Charlie's, not Five Guys and Fries, and certainly not Skip's, McDonalds or Wendy's. Just go there - it's usually jam packed so you can expect to wait 20 minutes at rush hour (Big Jim, you may want to pack a snack so you don't get lightheaded and help yourself to another patron's dish) it's definitely worth it the wait. All burgers are made to order from the freshest finest beef available, the tips come highly recommended, although I haven't tried them myself. Fletcher will like the extensive burger topping choices and there's plenty of cheese for Sandbox Charlie. Sorry Ed, there are no Spamburger's, but if you like sweet potatoes they have the best steak cut fries. The onion rings were huge and they looked and smelled great, not greasy and limp, they appeared to be coated in a corn flour batter, but can't say for sure, I stuck with fries. It's a burger lover's paradise. Enjoy!

So hold on a second... you had a bad experience in a restaraunt.. sorry to hear it. As a result you ban the place entirely? You're a moron.

It's one of the last good bars around. Why? The beauty of Charlie's is that even though it's in the middle of haahvid squayah, when you go upstairs you'll find a great crowd, excellent service (esp at the bar) AND a killer jukebox.

Oh wait.. you wouldn't know what a good jukebox is, would you.. you spin on an "alternative" station, and at the same time have up to the minute exciting news about U2 on your DJ page.

Not to excuse poor service anywhere (and it happens everywhere!), but next time go upstairs. Make a friend or two (there are lots of to be had. The regulars are usually in the corner at the end of the bar) and have a great time.

On second thought, maybe you should stay away (and keep the people that value your opinions away too). Hypocrites suck. Go back to your house in Auburndale.

(and your review on Finz was harsh kid. Try 62 on the Wharf next time you are in Salem- that is one of my new fav spots up there -try the chick pea fritters, if you like falafel, they'll knock your socks off!)

Second that!(to going upstairs instead) I worked at Charlies for many years and I ASSURE you its not all bad news. Go upstairs and sit at the bar and I promise you'll get great service, as well as the correct food and drinks! Wednesday nights are always good and not too crazy busy so you should be able to get a seat. There's no excuse for that kind of service, but don't boycott Charlies! I promise you, they're not all retards.

Dude give her a break, she was probably doing coke in the bathroom. I must say I applaud you for showing as much restraint as you did. Downstairs is notorious for shitty service, but upstairs or at the bar you get treated better. They hire a lot of retards and the turn over is incredibly high. If it makes you feel any better they pay attention to yelp reviews and she's probably going to get fired.
