Want To Get Your Band Played on FNX?

If you're a local band or artist based in New England, then NEP is the place to send your CD.   We listen to everything that comes in, although not every CD makes it on the air.

Step 1: Send us the record

New England Product

WFNX

25 Exchange St

Lynn, MA 01901

Step 2: In addition to the CD, please include a BRIEF bio that has your contact info, a list of any upcoming shows, where you're from, and any other information that radio listeners might find interesting.  Include a list of recommended tracks (shorter and radio-friendly songs are great) and VERY important - let us know if there's any profanity, and if so, which tracks.  Please don't send press kits, glossy photos and other tchoctchkes - save the postage for your press campaign!

Step 3: Please allow a few weeks for us to review the CD.  If you wish to contact us after a few weeks to inquire about a submission, drop us a line through email or Myspace and we'll let you know what's happening.  If you're playing a show in a Boston-area club, we'll know about it - we're in touch with the booking people and check their websites religiously.

FAQ's

Q: Can we send music in other formats besides CD?

A: CD's make life easy for us, so although we love to get vinyl, please include a CD-R of the record if you're going to send us vinyl.  In certain cases we'll accept mp3's, but generally we prefer CD's.

Q: We're not based in New England, but we're from there originally. Will you play our CD?

A: Probably not, although occasionally a band residing elsewhere will get spun if it still has strong local ties.  Generally, new music from outside our broadcast range goes to First Contact, which airs immediately following NEP on Sunday nights

Q: What are you looking for in submissions?

A: Well, there's obvious things like being local and fitting the format of the radio station, as well as others like the recording quality, originality and the quality of the musicianship, the lyrics, etc.  It doesn't matter to us if the record is on a major label or a CD-R demo from a brand new band - if we think listeners will like it, we'll play it.

While I am not in a band, I am a New England product looking to get some plugs!  I am a nature show host and I’d love to come in and talk to you!  I have some great stories, getting bitten by a rattlesnake, python, rabid raccoon, staying at crazy people’s houses in Costa Rica and maxing out all of credit cards getting this show started…good times.  Please drop me an e-mail at:  naturecallstv@gmail.com
