New England Product: This Week in Local Rock, 2/16/09

Hello hello, my darling New England Products. How was your Valentine's Day? I hope you all got lots of flowers and candy and L-O-V-E. I'm looking forward to buying clearance candy at the drug store.

I’m afraid the first bit of news I’ve got for you this week is a sad one. As you might know, Jeanne Connolly from TT the Bear’s Place has been battling cancer. Sadly, this morning she passed away. Jeanne has been supporting the local music scene and slinging drinks at TT’s for years, and she will be missed by musicians, fans, and friends. If any more information becomes available, we’ll be sure to post it here on wfnx.com.

On to happier news. Last night, Dave Duncan & I were joined in the studio by Thick as Thieves. The guys were attempting to behave better than they did last time (I'm looking at you, Aaron), which only resulted in us giggling like schoolchildren about the term "Dump Button." For the record, that isn't half as entertaining as it sounds.

If seems as though every time T.A.T. is in the studio everybody loses their minds, but the REAL reason for their visit (besides comic relief) was to give us an early listen to their new CD, RX EP. If you liked what you heard, you can pick up a copy at the CD release party next Saturday, 2/21, at The Middle East Upstairs. This show is “double extra special important” because in addition to being Thick as Thieves' release show, it is one of the last shows for Harris - a personal favorite band of the NEP fam. We hope to see you there, and at some of these fantastic events as well!
